Hello everyone,
Hope this newsletter finds you well this
morning...on with the news...
Site Update
We've been hard at work getting our new
site at the Rear of 19-21 Market Place operational. Work has
uncovered quite a bit of Lovibonds and Henley history including old
Lovibond order books, communication logs and many old mineral water
and beer bottles. One bottle seemingly feel from nowhere
(seriously), hitting Jason on the head as we cleaned out some old
racking. This bottle of Lovibonds Yeoman Ale (c. 1950's) still had
beer in it and our friends up at Brewlab in Sunderland are analysing
to see if we can brew a special batch with the original Lovibonds
yeast strain.
We are still awaiting the go ahead on
our licensing applications, and will keep you up to date on a
forthcoming open day.
Bottles
One of the priorities at the site was
getting our bottling machine installed and operational. We're proud
to say that Henley Gold and Henley Dark
are now available in bottles. You can pick up bottles at Henley's
Healthy Deli on Duke Street. Please let Jonny and
Sophie know that you heard about it from the newsletter.
We will be working on an online ordering
system in the coming months where you will be able to order via the
web and pick up from the brewery.
Customer of the Month
One of the nicest pubs in the area to
have a pint of Henley Gold is The Lamb at
Satwell. Part of TV chef Antony Worrall Thompsons growing
pub/restaurant estate, the Lamb is a perfect place to let a weekend
afternoon slip away. The small country pub has a massive garden and
the newly installed barbeque is one of the most impressive I've
seen. Check it out this weekend and let Will know you appreciate
him supporting us.
New Customers
The Red Lion Hotel in
Henley have chosen Henley Gold as the local choice
of beer in their snug bar. Recently taken over by the Gill family,
owners of the Manor Hotel in Windsor, plans are in place for an
extensive refurbishment to the facilities. The bar is open daily
and welcomes non-residents.
Laurence at Magoos in
Henley was the first to put Henley Gold on the bar
and he has since sold over 1000 pints. With another first, Laurence
has chosen Henley Amber to round out his selection
of local beer. For the freshest beer in Henley and one of the best
gardens, head to Magoos!
