Hope everyone is well!  It’s been a while since the last update, so here goes…

Henley Christmas Evening

As some of you will know, this Friday evening (December 1st, 17:00-21:00) the streets of Henley are blocked off to traffic and residents and their families descend upon the town centre to celebrate the start of the Christmas season.  We’ll be taking the opportunity to give something back this year by offering free samples of all of the beers: Henley Gold, Henley Dark and Henley Amber.  You can find us on Duke Street.  Please come and join us for a beer or two…

More Beer in Henley

If you are in the area this weekend, you will have a couple other chances to try some Lovibonds.  The Bird in Hand (Greys Road) will have the first official cask of Henley Dark on at some point this weekend.  Also, Magoos (Hart Street) is featuring the new Henley Gold.  See more beer announcements below.  If you get a chance, please let Graham and Laurence know that you appreciate them supporting us.

Beer Shuffle

We are announcing the release of Henley Dark, a 4.8% beer inspired by the London Porters of the distant past.  We’ve taken an already good porter recipe and added a proportion of malt that we hand smoked with beech wood to add another layer to the complex malt flavours.

We’ve renamed OHB to Henley Amber, but the recipe remains the same as the 3.4% OHB.  Most people didn’t get my play on words with the ‘Ordinary’…

Henley Gold has gone through a bit of a transformation.  As a hop guy, I love the old Henley Gold, but feedback was telling us that it wasn’t quite living up to the name with everyone.  Henley Gold is now much more focused on the flavours from wheat and a unique yeast from the oldest brewery in the world.  We hope you’ll give it a try and let us know what you think.  Those that were fond of the previous recipe, please shout…we’ll brew it again…we just need a new name...
