Henley Literary Festival
kicks off today, with a great variety
of literary events to enjoy in Henley this weekend.
We are supporting the Literary Festival by holding 2
free children's events at the shop on
Saturday. Refreshments will of course
be available for the parents!
- Fun for the Children - Deborah
Fielding - 11.00am and 3.00pm
Join children's writer Deborah Fielding
for the tale of Travis the Sheepdog and
a mini workshop where your children will have
the opportunity to listen, join in, draw and
explore their creative minds.
Suitable for ages 4-7 or younger with
supervision
- Inspiration for 11+ Year-Olds
- Sarah Mussi -12.30
Teacher and author of The Door of No
Return,
Sarah Mussi
has an almost miraculous ability to
enter the minds of children, and knows exactly
how to talk to her readers. This event
will aim to inspire 11 to 16 year-olds with a
mix of readings and audience participation and
is sure to be a fun hour for all children
interested in creative writing or those with a
vivid imagination

mistakes and this year's Hop Harvest Amber. You'll also
get a hands on tour and a Lovibonds glass.

Barnstormers Comedy
are in town with a brand new series of shows to
tickle your funny bones. On the last Sunday of each
month our resident compere will introduce three top
comedians from the London circuit, usually Jongleurs
and Comedy Store regulars. If you have not been to a
stand-up comedy show before you have been missing a
treat and you will be thrilled by the spontaneity of
the acts. Tip: Avoid bringing
your aged aunt along unless she is very broad
minded. Over 18s only please unless accompanied by a
parent or guardian. Lovibonds beer will of
course be available. Next

The Beetle and Wedge Boathouse |
|
|
| The
Beetle and Wedge is in a beautiful spot on the bank
of the Thames in Moulsford. On the site of the
original Moulsford ferry service, Warren and
Stephanie have created a wonderful dining
experience. You can now enjoy our hand crafted
draught Henley Amber with your meal. I suggest
pairing it with anything done on their open charcoal
grill! |

Danesfield House Hotel and Spa |
|
|
| |
|
|
| Danesfield House, on
the road to Marlow, started out as a private
residence and was then requisitioned during WW2,
where the RAF set up a Joint Service Imagery
Intelligence (IMINT). Apparently, Danesfield
was to IMINT what Bletchly Park was to Signals
Intelligence. Today Danesfield is a great weekend
getaway and dining experience. Henley Gold is
now featuring in the cocktail bar. |

Castle Hotel in Windsor |
|
|
| You can
now have a pint of Henley Amber in the Castle
Hotel's elegant bar while watching the changing of
the guard. When you are there be sure to thank
Andy for offering his visitors a local, craft beer
alternative to the Mega Beers. |
|
 |
| That's all for
now...I hope to see you in the tasting room soon!
Best regards,
Jeff |
