Famous chefs gave demonstrations and local restaurateurs and producers peddled their wares to the public. Henley brewer, Jeff Rosenmeier, decided to take a different approach to promoting his locally produced brand, Henley Gold. Jeff said, 'On the hour there were some pretty big queues for the food demonstrations. I had built a mobile beer dispenser for a trade show the previous day and thought that it would be a great opportunity to take the beer to the crowds.'
Henley brewer talking local beer with Food Festival goers Prior to the demonstrations opening the doors, Jeff walked the queue of visitors and offered hundreds of free samples of Lovibonds' locally produced Henley Gold, promoting the local alternatives to today's industrial beers. 'I provided some light relief and refreshment for the crowds in the queue and in return they gave me some great feedback on our beer', said Jeff. Jeff formed Lovibonds Brewery, a small craft brewery, in Henley-on-Thames after choosing to follow a hobby that had been consuming his spare time for over a decade. Jeff began brewing when a friend dazzled him with a home made stout over 12 years ago. A computer scientist by degree, Jeff's successful career in software engineering and management consulting brought him to the Henley 10 years ago, where he has since started a family. He said, 'I was a very fortunate guy to have landed in Henley. I love the river and surrounding hills, but I must admit it was the beer that made it so special to me. Henley Gold, Lovibonds flagship brand, is a refreshing 4.2% golden ale with excellent hop character. Henley Gold is brewed with some long forgotten techniques and a complex bill of English and continental hops. Jeff said, 'Henley Gold is the type of beer that goes great with an afternoon on the river in Henley. A flavourful, locally crafted alternative.'
