FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Source: Lovibonds Brewery Ltd Henley Harvest Offering from LovibondsOctober 1, 2006 Henley-on-Thames This year Lovibonds Brewery celebrated the hop harvest by producing a one-off version of its popular Henley Amber by adding hops within hours of being picked from the bine. "We have a small hop yard at the brewery and while the malt was resting in the mash tun we picked the hops so that they were ready to go into the copper", said Jeff Rosenmeier, co-founder and head brewer. Doing a 'fresh' or 'wet' hopped beer has its challenges, one being that the bittering content of the hops is unknown at the time of brewing. Jeff said, "We want to get the fresh aromas and flavours from the wet hops, and basically use the general rule of 'when in doubt, add more hops'". The beer, a 3.4% session bitter already has a lot of flavour, but the fresh hop character adds another dimension entirely. The 'Fresh Hopped' Henley Amber will only be available at select outlets, including the Hobgoblin and the Retreat, both in Reading. Lovibonds Brewery is a small craft brewery in the historic town of Henley-on-Thames, founded by Jeff Rosenmeier. Lovibonds brands include Henley Gold, a 4.6% golden ale, Henley Dark, a 4.8% porter and Henley Amber, a 3.4% session bitter. For more information, visit
